THOR ODINSON SERIES
Canonically the mantle of Thor was passed to Jane Foster in a comics series in 2015, sometimes artists are depicting this time period, but often the female Thors are of their own interpretation
He meets the Guardians of the Galaxy team and gains a new prosthetic eye. In Avengers: Infinity War he watches Loki be killed by Thanos. Thor's hammer is destroyed and he loses and eye while battling Hela. He reunites with Bruce Banner/ The Hulk and forms a friendship with Valkyrie. He discovers that he has a sister, Hela, the first born child to Odin who is determined to conquer the Nine Realms. In Thor: Ragnarok Jane Foster has broken up with him. His relationship with Jane Foster is well documented, as is his friendship with Sif, Fandral, Hogun and Volstag. Together, they defend Asgard, at considerable costs. When Asgard faces the threat of Malekith in Thor: The Dark World, he asks his brother's help. In The Avengers (2012), he fights as part of the Avengers Initiative against his brother and takes him as prisoner back to Asgard. They help him get back to Asgard and fight his brother, who has seized the throne in his absence. As punishment, he is banished to Midgard/Earth, where he meets Jane Foster, Darcy Lewis and Eric Selvig. In the first film, after a failed coronation, he and his brother Loki wage war on Jotunheim. In 2015 the mantle of Thor passed to Jane Foster in a comic series featuring a female Thor. He is one of the founding members of The Avengers, and almost always appears in Avengers comics. He is sent to Earth by Odin to learn humility, he is made mortal and his memories are erased, he lives on earth for several years before his memories return and he again becomes Thor. He had several solo comic runs from 1960s-present.
Thor's first appearance in the comics was in August 1962 in the Journey into Mystery #83.
In the MCU films, he is portrayed by Chris Hemsworth. He is based on the Norse deity of the same name. And finally, at the time of writing this, in both Jason Aaron and David Curiel's Avengers as well as the first issue of Torunn Grønbekk, Michael Dowling, Jesus Aburtov, and VC's Joe Sabino's Jane Foster and the Mighty Thor #1 Jane refutes the temptation to take the hammer back from the Odinson once more.Thor Odinson is a character in the Marvel Comics series Thor, the Marvel YA novel Loki: Where Mischief Lies, and in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her emotional core surfaces again as she displays a relationship with Mjolnir unlike any other Thor has had. From the outset of her super heroics, Jane's heart is tested by the choice to battle cancer or be Thor and she is willing to sacrifice her life for what is right. The strength of Jane Foster's heart is constantly on display during her time as Thor and directly contrasts with Thor Odinson's interior weaknesses.

At the same time, current series from Marvel like Avengers and Jane Foster and the Mighty Thor tease her potential to take up the eponymous role once more. Jane Foster's tenure as the Mighty Thor was so iconic that it's being adapted into the MCU this summer.
